Alex von Furstenberg
Alex von Furstenberg is the chief investment officer and co-managing member of Arrow Capital Management. His company is a private investment firm that focuses on global public equities. As the firm’s CIO, he also serves the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, one of Arrow’s private investment clients.
Aside from this, he was also one of those who led the restructuring of the Diane von Furstenberg Studio LP (DVF), a famous international luxury brand. He transformed its annual revenue of $1 million to over $200 million. To this day, Alex von Furstenberg remains a director and partner for DVF. In addition to this, he also serves as a member of the board of directors for companies like IAC and W.P. Stewart and Co, Ltd. He started his business career as a trader on Allen and Company’s Risk Arbitrage Desk in 1993.
Like all other prominent figures in the business world, Alex von Furstenberg is involved in numerous philanthropic activities. He is the secretary and director of the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, as well as a member of the board for Friends of the High Line. The High Line is a public park located in Manhattan’s West Side that is a non-profit partner of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Aside from this, he is also a member of the National Council of ACRIA.
In 1993, Alex von Furstenberg received his bachelor’s degree in Arts at the Brown University. Alex von Furstenberg is of noble descent – from the royal line of Emperor Napoleon I. His mother is the famous fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. His father is Prince Egon of Furstenberg, who is also a fashion designer. His grandfather, Prince Tassilo of Furstenberg, was an Australian nobleman. The whole Furstenberg family is a descendant of Stephanie de Beauharnais, the adoptive daughter and first cousin of the adoptive children of Emperor Napoleon I.
Alex von Furstenberg currently lives with his family in Malibu, California. He is currently dating fashion designer Ali Kay.
