Donald Trump
Real Estate Developer, Casino & Hotel Operator, Business Author, TV Personality
As CEO and Chairman of the Trump global superbrand, Donald Trump’s conglomerate portfolio includes real estate, hotel collection, golf clubs, casino resorts, entertainment, and publications. Donald Trump himself is an international celebrity as a top business mogul, socialite, TV personality, and author. Indeed, the Trump name is, in itself, a brand equated with prestige and luxury across its industries.
Donald Trump graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, specializing in Finance from the top business education institution, University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School. Being the son of wealthy New Yorker Fred Christ Trump, his father’s early influence formed his inclination for real estate development. His first five years in the corporate world were spent learning and working with the best — his father.
Among the most coveted addresses he developed are the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, United Nations Plaza Trump World Tower, 59th Street Trump Park Avenue, the Trump Palace, and The Trump International Hotel & Tower. In the casino industry, he has built Trump Plaza, Trump Marina, and Trump Taj Mahal. Donald Trump’s luxury businesses also cover golf courses in New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Palm Beach to name a few.
Donald Trump also published several business books, and his bestsellers include The Art of the Deal (with Tony Schwartz in 1987), The America We Deserve (with Dave Shiflett in 2000), Trump 101, and Why We Want You To Be Rich (with Rich Dad, Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki in 2006). Finding himself constantly in the limelight, he decided to invest in the ownership and broadcasting rights for the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageants together with NBC. He also produced the reality TV show The Apprentice, which he also hosted and where his two favorite words were “You’re fired!”
On top of the financial success and international prominence, Donald Trump has received a number of prestigious awards as well. He has been the Entrepreneur of the Year, Wharton Entrepreneurial Club, 1984; Developer of the Year, Construction Management Association of America, 1999; Hotel and Realty Visionary of the Century, UTA Federation, 2000.
