Founder of Roni Deutch, A Professional Tax Corporation

Before she became the country’s most famous tax lawyer, Roni Lynn Deutch was an active baseball player. At age 11, she became the first girl in California to play for an all-boy’s Little League team, even become an All-Star pitcher the next year. After high school, Roni Deutch helped her team win a national championship in fast-pitch softball.

Roni Lynn Deutch continued to play softball for UC Berkeley, where she played third base while earning a double degree for Pre-Law and Ethnic studies. She got her law degree at Western State University College of Law, where she discovered her passion for tax law. During the course of her studies, Roni Deutch discovered just how powerful the Internal Revenue Service really is, and how they can systematically destroy a person’s financial life. She became aware of the thousands of Americans who struggled under the debt of the IRS.

Roni Deutch decided she would become the country’s first and foremost tax law advocate. After getting her law degree (in which she specialized in tax law), Roni Deutch opened her first tax office in her small condo in Sacramento in 1993. She also maxed out her credit card to air her first television commercial.

The Roni Lynn Deutch, A Professional Tax Corporation began growing rapidly, and soon Roni Deutch moved her headquarters to a series of larger offices. Over the years, Roni Deutch amassed special teams of tax attorneys and accountants to help her thousands of clients.

Roni Deutch first focused on helping her clients get an “Offer in Compromise,” in which a person can reduce the amount of tax they owe. Eventually, Roni Deutch moved on to help set up “Installment Agreements” for her clients, which allowed taxpayers to pay off their bill at reasonable monthly rates. She also set up a “Currently Not Collectible” status for taxpayers totally unable to pay their tax bill until their financial situation changed.

Roni Lynn Deutch continues to lead her tax company into the future. She has expanded her services to the Latino community by hiring a dedicated Spanish-speaking staff, and has started a Spanish-language advertising campaign. The Roni Deutch Tax Corporation is also taking advantage of the Internet Age by creating software for clients to do their taxes online. The website now accounts for 40% of the company’s business. Roni Lynn Deutch also keeps a daily blog, where she covers taxation news and her favorite topics.

Roni Deutch is the author of The Tax Lady’s Guide to Beating the IRS and Saving Big Bucks on Your Taxes, a bestseller that teaches everyday taxpayers how to significantly lower their tax bill.

Roni Lynn Deutch is an active philanthropist, involved with Prevent Child Abuse America as well as hosting charity events for orphans and foster children in the Sacramento Children’s House.
