Clark Howard is a nationally syndicated talk show host and consumer advocate. His show, The Clark Howard Show, is broadcast from WSB-AM in Atlanta, Georgia. Every day, millions of listeners tune in to hear Clark Howard, in his words, “help you save more, spend less, and avoid getting ripped off.” On his show, Clark Howard talks about consumer products, services, and the latest scams that people are getting caught in. Listeners can also call in to ask Clark Howard advice on consumer matters, such as mortgages, Individual Retirement Accounts, and car loans.

Clark Howard made his fortune in the travel agency business. In 1987, he retired from that industry and started giving travel advice on Atlanta radio stations. His distinctive, friendly manner of speaking and no-nonsense, practical advice became a big hit with the listeners. Clark Howard was eventually given his own radio show, and then Clark Howard expanded his advice to all consumer issues. Clark Howard still gives travel advice, and devotes his Friday show, “The Friday Flier,” to travel tips. He often advises Atlanta listeners to drive to the Birmingham Airport to get cheaper airfares.

Although his radio station has commercial sponsors, Clark Howard refuses to accept money for his personal endorsements. This policy allows Clark Howard to issue strong opinions on a wide range of products and services without having to worry about advertisers. As a result, Clark Howard has earned considerable credibility and trust with his listeners.

Clark Howard also appears regularly on television, and writes a syndicated column for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. On both his television show and newspaper column, Clark Howard offers consumer warnings and tips. On the Discovery Health Channel, Clark Howard and his wife Lane assist couples who are experiencing financial difficulties. He also hosts shows on Rainbow Media’s Mag Rack and HLN (formerly Headline News).

Clark Howard is involved in many philanthropic activities, such as Atlanta Volunteer Action, Voluteer Action, The Big Buddy Program, Career Action, and Habitat for Humanity.
