Italian American chef Giada de Laurentiis was born on August 22, 1970. Aside from being a chef, she is also known as a television personality and writer. She currently hosts several Food Network programs like Behind the Bash, Giada in Paradise, Giada’s Weekend Getaway, Giada in Paradise and Everyday Italian.

Born in Rome Italy to celebrity parents, Giada de Laurentiis completed her high school education at Marymount High School. In 1996, she earned her bachelor’s degree in social anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is fluent in five languages: Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese and English. She is also familiar with the German and Russian language.

Before the start of her career, Giada De Laurentiis studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France with hopes of becoming a pastry chef. She became a professional chef working in several Los Angeles restaurants after returning to the United States. She then worked as a food stylist and her styling piece appeared in the Food & Wine Magazine in 2002. Food Network later contacted her after they saw her work in the magazine.

Giada De Laurentiis wrote and published four books, including Everyday Italian: 125 Simple and Delicious Recipes, Giada’s Family Dinners, Everyday Pasta, and Giada’s Kitchen: New Italian Favorites.
