Jonathan Rubinstein is one of America’s most prominent computer scientists and electrical engineers. He was born on April 12, 1956 in New York City. Jonathan Rubinstein earned his Bachelor in Science degree for electrical engineering in 1978 from the Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He received his master’s degree in the same field and in the same school a year after his graduation. Later on, Jonathan Rubinstein supplemented his academic achievements with an MS in computer science from the Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.

His academic background has helped him make a name for himself in the field of innovation and technology. He is one of the few people who became highly involved with the development and creation of the iPod, one of Apple Computer Inc’s most popular products. For a few years, he served as the senior vice president for the Apple Computer’s iPod division. After leaving his position, he became the executive chairman of the board for Palm Inc, a leading smartphone manufacturer based in Sunnyvale, California. He currently serves as the chief executive officer of the firm.

Earlier in his career, Jonathan Rubinstein had spent two years in the manufacturing and engineering division of Hewlett-Packard in Colorado. After which, he worked for Ardent Computer Corp, a startup company in Silicon Valley. The company was later renamed into Stardent. While working for Stardent, Jonathan Rubinstein became a part of a team that launched a pair of machines: the Stardent 3000 Graphics Supercomputer and the Titan Graphics Supercomputer.

Jonathan Rubinstein is currently married to hi5 board of directors chairman Karen Richardson. Additionally, Jonathan Rubinstein is also involved in various organizations. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, Cornell Alumni Council, Cornel Silicon Valley Advisors, as well as the Consumer Electronics Association.
